Update on breakfast!

The death toll in the Myanmar cyclone has reportedly topped 22,000 and there are over 41,000 people still missing. These numbers are not just zeroes but valuable, individual lives. Please spare a prayer if you can do nothing else. Check out the details here. You can give financial aid to victims and families of the deceased here.

This is shocking and staggaring. My heart breaks! Numbers like that are hard for us to comprehend. May our Lord have mercy.

P.S. I've been to Myanmar's (Burma's) boarder when I spent 5 weeks in Thailand (2001). The unrest was palatable--even back then.

The amazing thing is that our headlines have already moved on. How can we ignore something so huge??
Hope - it's hard to believe that trip was 7 years ago.

We've been covering this story like crazy at work for the last 3/4 days. Earlier this morning (as shows at the time run out of London/Hong Kong) we had callers that had been affected by the damage. We had a reporter go in, unnameed (Since Myanmar has media resrtictions) to try and get pictures of the devestation. I am more amazed by it than anything. The people certainly need alot of prayer. It saddens my heart hearing some of the stories we work on....

It certainly helps keep our own small problems, by comparison, in perspective. The world is so large, and we are so small, but our God is so big! It's hard to believe sometimes that a word from us (so small) can be used by God to open the heavens pour out blessings on people halfway around the globe! I'll keep praying-TK

Gapper, doesn't it? We really realize how easy our lives are when we have to witness the suffering of other people who already have a difficult enough life as it is. Thankfully though our prayers do make a difference.
