And I quote: Words of wisdom from lives well lived!

I’ve been thinking lately about a few random quotes that I’ve either read, heard, or seen in a movie, which really impacted my life in a significant way. Below are a few of them. Can you think of any quotes that made a lasting impression on you?

When you can’t save them all, how do you choose who lives? – The Guardian

…I take the first one I come to, or the weakest one in the group, and then I swim as fast as I can… - The Guardian

He’s the Fisher of men. A last hope for all those who’ve been left behind. He’s the Guardian. – The Guardian

We may not be able to change the world with one act of kindness or generosity, but we can tilt it in the right direction. – Erwin McManus

People don’t argue with love in action. We are accountable to the world for how we portray Christ and consequently what they believe about him. – Ravi Zacharias

Sometimes a man finds his destiny on the road he took to avoid it. - The International

Sometimes the most difficult decision is, knowing which bridge to cross and which one to burn. - The International

"perhaps we are all refugees from something, but i see now, there is nothing to fear" (beyond borders)

"but regardless of what weapons they try to use to effect silence, words will always retain their power. Words are the means to meaning, and for some, the annunciation of truth." (v for vendetta- really the whole movie gets me...so one quote is not enough...but this one of the more significant ones)

"How happy is the blameless vestal's lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd" (Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, the quote the movie was based on from Alexander Pope)

"Don't worry, be happy". Words to live by! Wonder if the original author realized he/she was quoting Scripture?

I've read so many words that have touched me profoundly. Alas my memory just doesn't store much of them. But this one in particular I have no troubles remembering: "For God so loved the world He gave His only begotton Son" John 3:16.

Everytime I think I understand that bit of scripture, He shows me that I have no idea. I'm inclined to agree with Him.
